The role of the Trading Manager is to be the credible Drinks Category Expert, responsible for the creation and execution of their Category Trading Strategy, managing and developing the buying and sales support of each drinks category for Molson Coors Brewing Company.
As Trading Manager, you have a deep and current understanding / expertise of the Market, Category trends and consumer insight that leverage procurement methodologies and drive sales.
Within each category you will deliver COGs reductions, improve Central Profit monies and lead high level Joint Business Planning with key suppliers, ensuring win: win relationships to deliver profitable growth.
You will have the experience and ability to negotiate with Major Global and Specialist Local Suppliers, translating market information and insight into a credible customer proposition, encompassing Product Range, Quality, Value and Service.
This requires focus upon the end to end procurement process and value chain, including (but not exhaustive) procurement of products via the most appropriate source, driving efficiency improvements from our supply chain and leading this area with a customer focus.
The Trading Manager is responsible for liaising with the Trade Marketing Manager, National Contact Centre, Sales Directors and Regional Controllers to achieve volume and distribution targets and through promotional and sales support driven activity.
The role is based in our Burton Head Office and business travel is required
As the Trading Manager, you will create, coordinate and execute their Category Strategy and Annual Plan, demonstrating extensive and current expertise of your market and categories - the category 'go to' expert for Molson Coors Brewing Company.
You’ll manage and develop the buying and sales support of each drinks category. In addition, you will be delivering a credible customer proposition which encompasses all aspects of Product Range, Quality, Value and Service - each delivering further profit growth.
You will be responsible for optimising this strength of knowledge to form customer and market insight, leveraging procurement methodologies and strong negotiation skills to deliver cost base reductions and incremental monies for Central Profit across the drinks supplier base.
The Trading Manager is a senior management role within the wider Trading Team and you’ll therefore be required to demonstrate an ability to engage with the Senior On-Trade Team and Senior Sales Leaders across the On Trade. This is a strategic influencing role that will need you to interface with key personnel in all functions.
Within this role you will be responsible for driving the end to end management of the procurement process.
Who we’re looking for?
You’ll have excellent negotiation skills with proven category management and procurement experience. You’ll have strong examples of successful negotiations and partnerships within a Commercial Buying role.
Naturally, your communication skills will be robust and you’ll have the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll be negotiating with key suppliers, ensuring excellent service from them and seeing success from the value extracted from your negotiations. You’ll be highly numerical and be a credible expert, able to manage internal stakeholder relationships and support internal discussions with commercial detail.
