We are currently recruiting for a Technical Brewer to join our brewery team at our Burtonwood site, near Warrington, Cheshire. This is an exciting time to join our brewery which will see major investment over the next 3 to 5 years. As part of the brewery management team, you will provide technical experience and expertise to the brewing department.



As a Technical Brewer your duties will include:

  • Reviewing plant performance and initiating activities to ensure continuous improvement in product quality (phys/chem and microbiological), plant yield, and product costs.
  • Leading cross functional teams on new process and plant initiatives, designed to drive results. You will provide technical expertise to the operational teams.
  • Identifying and prioritizing capital requirements and participating in all stages on the capital process though the involvement of all teams.
  • Coordinating and managing plant trials, reviewing the outcomes with group QA and NPD functions, suppliers, etc. etc.  and initiating further activities as required.
  • Reviewing process specifications and advising on changes required to meet product specifications.
  • Involvement with the training and development of the operational team’s specific to process improvement and capital project delivery.
  • Sourcing/delivering training to expand the general technical knowledge and business awareness of the team at Burtonwood.
  • Delivering reduced utilities consumption and process/material losses.
  • Coaching the team members on Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety processes.

We are looking for someone who has a BA/BSc in a technical discipline. You will also have a Diploma in Brewing or ideally you will hold the Master Brewer qualification. You should have considerable brewing experience to bring to our organisation


This role is based in Burtonwood and the salary is between £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience.
