Reporting Close Manager 6 Month Contract

With a story that starts in 1774, we’ve spent centuries defining brewing greatness. But, it’s a job that’s never finished—and that’s just fine, because we love what we do.

Are you a top-tier Finance professional well versed in technical accounting standards?

Are you looking for a fresh challenge in an exciting industry?

If so, please read below for more on our current opportunity to join our Burton Upon Trent based Finance team.

We currently have an opportunity for a Reporting Close Manager to join us on a 6-month contract. Reporting to the Senior Financial Reporting Manager, you will be supporting external and statutory reporting as well as compliance with UK and US accounting standards and accounting policies. This is a dynamic role with a lot of exposure within a large global business as you’ll be responsible for the entire financial close down.

Here’s a list of key responsibilities and elements to the role:

    • Responsible for supporting external and statutory reporting ensuring adherence to group accounting policies.
    • Key point of contact with outsourced service providers on R2R activity, including measurement of SLA's and supporting Global Services on new initiatives.
    • Business support on technical accounting issues, including contract review.
    • Key point of contact for external audit. Ongoing coaching of broader internal Finance team on latest accounting developments and standards.
    • Co-ordinate month end process across the function including G/L close.

Due to the critical nature of this role, we are looking for someone with exemplary technical accounting skills with proven experience of statutory accounts. You will be working in conjunction with the rest of the business, both locally and globally so a collaborative nature and strong communication skills are a requirement.

You’ll have excellent knowledge of IFRS, UK and US GAAP accounting requirements and be fully up to speed with all the latest technical accounting standards and developments. To be considered, you'll need to be a qualified accountant. We do use SAP so prior experience of this would be desirable but please do not be put off of applying if you don’t tick that box as it isn’t essential.

We don’t just hire based on skill set, we hire great people and we’re looking for visionary individuals with a desire to overcome challenges and seek out solutions to problems. You won’t have any direct reports in this role but you will work very closely with your colleagues near and far so you will need to have an excellent communication style with the ability to build relationships.

This is an autonomous role and if you have a "can do" attitude, this is an outstanding opportunity to really show what you can do.

We’re looking to get the right person started as soon as possible so if this sounds of interest, we'd love to hear from you. Click apply to start the conversation.
